A matter of forgiveness and understanding

Monday morning, I was in the office doing some stuffs while, at the same time, had a chance to open my facebook. While browsing, my attention focused on the hostage drama that is happening at  the Quirino Grandstand. At first, I ignored all the comments on facebook regarding the scene, but I noticed that this became the talk of the town. The issue on hostage taking reached even my friends in other country, probably because they were watching the news on television.

At 6:30 in the evening, a student from DLSU went to my office to pick me up. He is asking for my help with his lessons and assignments in school. We went in our house using  his car and then we go together in my room. I switched on the tv to watch a primetime teleserye,  but what flashed in the screen is the hostage drama. I started to watch the scene and can't believe why it took so long before the crime was solved.

Morning after the hostage taking, I have read that Hongkong declared that it is no longer safe to travel in the Philippines. That filipinos are banned to go to their country. Today, someone told me that Hongkong government declared war against Philippines.

I felt sad when I heard all  of those news , as if all Filipinos are criminal. I begged to disagree, Filipinos are known for our hospitality. Kind-hearted and God-fearing are the most traits that we filipinos are proud of. On the issue of the hostage drama, I believe that the blame should not be in general. An act of one should not and cannot be an act of all.

Crime is everywhere. There are instances that we filipinos are a victim of a crime. Many filipinos are also killed abroad. Massacre, being jailed, blaming for a crime when, in fact, totally innocent. We are also experiencing such kind of demonic acts.

What we need right now is a total forgiveness and understanding.

I want to share my sympathy and condolences to the family of the deceased Chinese nationals. May they have peace in the eternal life.

Crime is Everywhere
